What is buffering machine?
Buffing machine, also known as
buffing polishing machine, is often used for mechanical grinding, polishing, and waxing. A
buffing and polishing machine is a power tool. As an
electric buffing machine, it consists of basic components like base, disc, polishing fabric, polishing cover, and top cover.
Buffing polisher machine can easily create various texture patterns with different precision according to the demand, such as snow pattern, brushed pattern, wave pattern, matte surface, mirror surface, etc. It can quickly repair deep scratches and minor scratches, fast grinding, and polishing. It can weld seams, water mouth marks, traces of oxide film, stains, and paint, which is suitable for deburring, forming rounded corners, and decorative metal processing. It is also a piece of important equipment for metal products production lines because it will not form dark shadows, transition zones, and uneven decorative surfaces during processing.
Polishing machine is suitable for the following industries: wood/furniture industry, hardware (metal) materials industry, stainless steel products industry, plumbing and sanitary equipment industry, and so on.
Buffing machine classification
a. According to the source of power, buffing machines can be divided into pneumatic buffing machine and electric buffing machine. In contrast, the pneumatic polishing machine is safer, but requires a gas source; electric polishing machine is easier to find power, but you must pay attention to the use of electrical safety.
b. According to the function, buffing unit can be divided into dual action buffing machine and buffing drill machine. Dual-action buffing machine can be installed on the grinding wheel to polish metal materials and can be replaced with polishing discs for paint protection burial. This machine is heavy at 2-3 kg, but it works very smoothly and is not easily damaged. The buffing drill machine is small with a nonadjustable speed and it is difficult to master the balance when using it.
c. According to the speed, buffing sanding machine can be divided into high-speed buffing machine, medium-speed buffing machine, and low-speed buffing machine.
Speed classification | Rotate speed | Remark |
High-speed buffing machine | 1750-3000 r/mAn | Adjustable |
Medium-speed buffing machine | 1200-1600 r/rain | Adjustable |
Low-speed buffing machine | 1200r/min | Nonadjustable |
Working principle of buffing machine
The key to
buffing machines is that during the operation, the operator should try to get the maximum polishing rate so that the damage layer produced during polishing can be removed as soon as possible. It is also important to avoid the formation of pseudo-tissue in the polished damage layer, which may affect the final observed tissue. When trying to get the maximum polishing rate, it requires the use of coarser abrasives to ensure a larger polishing rate to remove the polished damage layer, but the operator also finds a deeper polished damage layer. To avoid the formation of false tissue, it is required to use the finest material, so that the polishing damage layer is shallow at a low polishing rate. The best way to solve this contradiction is to divide polishing into two stages.
Step one, rough polishing. The purpose of coarse polishing is to remove the polishing damage layer. The polishing rate should be adjusted to the maximum when rough polishing is performed. Surface damage is not the primary consideration of rough polishing, but should also be reduced as much as possible.
Step two, fine polishing. The purpose of fine polishing is to remove the surface damage produced by rough polishing so that polishing damage is reduced to a minimum.
In polishing, the specimen grinding surface and
polishing disc should be parallel and the specimen grinding surface should be uniformly lightly pressed on the polishing disc (pay attention to prevent the specimen from flying out and producing new abrasion marks on the polishing disc due to too much pressure). The operator should also make the specimen rotate and move back and forth along the radius direction of the turntable to avoid the polishing fabric local wear too fast. In the polishing process, the operator needs to keep adding micro-powder suspension to keep the polishing fabric at a certain humidity. However, when the humidity is too large, it will weaken the polishing of the abrasion; when the humidity is too small, it will reduce the role of lubrication, resulting in the grinding surface without luster, or even worse.
To achieve the purpose of
coarse polishing, it is usually required a low rotate speed of no more than 600r / min. Polishing the specimen surface will take longer than removing scratches from it because the deformation layer has to be removed. If the grinding surface is smooth after rough polishing but still dull, then the operator needs to observe from a microscope to see if there are uniform and detailed grinding marks on the surface. If there are grinding marks, they need to be eliminated by fine polishing.
Types of buffing machine
Buffing and polishing machine
a. Handheld buffing machine
Handheld buffing machine refers to small buffing machine and micro buffing machine. As a hand buffing machine, mini buffing machine usually includes small hand buffing machine, portable buffing machine, mini hand buffing machine, car buffing machine, car polish buffing machine, car wax buffing machine, cordless car buffing machine, etc.
b. Magnetic buffing machine
Magnetic buffing machine features in short working time and low cost by using semi-permanent stainless steel grinding material. Its working principle is to use fine grinding stainless steel needles to conduct super strong electromagnetic force to produce high-speed flow in the workpiece bore, and surface friction to achieve polishing, cleaning, deburring and other precision grinding effects.
More features
a) It can remove burrs, chamfering, burrs, polishing, washing, and other precision grinding work for light iron metals, non-iron metals, hard plastics, and other finished precision parts.
b) It can grind irregular parts, holes, tubes, dead ends, joints, etc.
c) Fast processing speed, simple and safe operation, low cost.
d) The finished product will not be deformed after processing and will not affect the accuracy.
Use of buffing machine
Buffing machine use
a. Clean up the workplace, remove objects that are not related to the work, and place the workpieces to be used in the proper position.
b. Overall inspection of polishing machine; start polishing machine operation to check and exclude abnormalities; debug the solidity of fixed bolts.
c. During the operation of the buffing machine, it must be operated by the requirements of the polishing machine regulations.
d. The operator shall not wear gloves during the normal operation of the polishing machine.
e. The operator must always check the effect of the processed items to see if there are any abnormalities in the processed workpiece, such as deformation, burrs, marks, and other undesirable effects; it is necessary to maintain communication with the relevant staff during operation to prevent serious errors.
f. When you hear a strange noise from the buffing machine, you must eliminate the function that fails to operate normally.
g. Must be professionally operated by professionals.
h. After finishing the operation, keeping the polishing machine clean and cleaning up the production waste in time is also necessary.
i. Buffing tools should be placed in a fixed position for easy take and use; you should organize and place the processed product workpieces in the proper position.
High-speed buffing machine polisher
A. High-speed polishing machine should not be used in the following cases
a. The operator is not professionally trained.
b. The operator has not learned the operating instruction of Safety Procedures.
c. The high-speed polishing machine is not running properly.
