What is drug tests?

10-panel-drug-test
Drug tests are used for the rapid detection of drug test paper (reagent) boxed specifications.

The scope of the application contains the following.

a. Public security departments, and anti-drug agencies for screening suspicious people.

b. Military conscription, medical examination for school admission.

c. Drug treatment institutions treatment monitoring, medical and health epidemic prevention departments census, screening, medical examination, etc.

Some drug tests use a gold standard method to quickly test human urine for drug use, and results are available in 3 minutes. And high accuracy. At present, the public security system, military recruitment, drug treatment centers, labor camps, family monitoring, community drug treatment, and other administrative departments, are using this method for rapid drug detection.

Working principle of drug tests

Drug tests are prepared by immobilizing morphine-BSA conjugate and anti-mouse lgG antibody on nitrocellulose membrane respectively, labeling the anti-morphine antibody with colloidal gold and applying the principle of immune competitive inhibition reaction by nano-colloidal gold technique.

Colloidal gold monoclonal antigen, antibody immunocompetitive action principle. When the content of morphine or its metabolites in the specimen reaches 300ng/ml, it binds to the limited antibody with chromogenic micro-particles fixed on the permeable membrane, thus preventing it from binding to the antigen in the test area (T-line area), no precipitated color band will appear in the T-line area. If the specimen does not contain drugs or their metabolites, a chromogenic precipitation line will appear in the T-line area. The other color band (C-line area) of the subenzymatic solvent leaching extraction process is used to determine whether the experiment is reliable.

Feature of drug tests

a. Accuracy. Referring to international standards for drug abuse monitoring, we designed the detection thresholds to meet the actual needs.

b. Specificity. Monoclonal antibodies with high specificity are selected to minimize possible cross-reactivity.

c. Fast. The result can be read by the naked eye after 5 minutes of urine dropping.

d. Stable. Nanogold’s high-tech achievements, the quality is more stable and reliable than other similar products.

e. Convenient. No need for any equipment and additional testing, easy to operate.

Use of drug tests

Remove the test strip from the sealed package, and insert the end indicated by the arrow into the urine sample, the upper boundary of the urine should not exceed the MAX line, and after 15 seconds remove the test strip and place it flat on a clean and dry surface.

If the test card is used, aspa irate about 100 ul (3-4) drops of urithem ne sample with a pipette and drop into the spiked well.

Observe the displayed results in the test area. A strong positive result can be displayed within 40 seconds. To determine whether it is weakly positive or negative, it takes 5 minutes to observe the displayed result, and 8 minutes to display the result without any clinical significance.

Common drug detection methods with drug tests

Hair follicle drug test

As we all know, both urine and blood tests are more susceptible to the statute of limitations. Generally, about a week after taking drugs, the drug components in the body will be oxidized and broken down, and excreted as the body substances are metabolized. Therefore, once the time limit is missed, then the test becomes meaningless. So, for some targets that need to be tested for more than ten days and half a month, what other more appropriate method can there be? This is when hair testing is needed to determine whether or not drugs are present in their bodies.

Usually, drugs can remain in the hair for at least three months, and some even six months or more. The sample is easy to collect, easy to handle, and easy to store (no refrigeration required), and it is also more convenient as any body hair can be used for testing, except for the hair.

How are drugs detected in hair?

The drug enters the hair follicle through blood circulation, the drug substance and its metabolites will be fixed by the keratin in the hair, and can be retained in the hair for a long time and stable, which is one of the most obvious advantages of hair testing as opposed to urine testing and blood testing. Some people may question the accuracy of the test results, such as whether the hair will not be detected after it is dyed. Hair staining can be detected because of the different components of the extracted sample.

The following points should be noted when collecting hairs for drug tests.

a. The best site for hair collection is the back of the head. This part of the growth rate changes little, in the growth phase of the hair, if there are difficulties in the head collection, you can also collect other parts, such as the armpits, legs, or pubic area.

b. When collecting hair, it is best to use thinning shears to collect samples from the back of the subject's head close to the scalp, about 5cm length of hair 50, about a small handful, kneaded into a ball almost the size of a dollar coin. Of course, if you can take more, take more, and try to collect samples of dark-colored hair.

c. For the collection of short hair (usually mostly men), about 3cm in length is sufficient. After collecting the package, be sure to check whether the sample bag seal is intact to avoid leakage and other situations.

d. The time frame for hair testing for drug use is about six months, ranging from as short as three months to as long as one year. The length of time depends on two factors: the length of the subject's hair and the body's metabolism.

The process of the hair follicle drug test is as follows.

a. Open the hair toxicity detector, and take out the scissors, sample collection bags, and other sample collection tools.

b. Clean the scissors, and staff change gloves for the next group of sampling.

c. Put the hairs into the test tube.

d. Put the loaded hair test tube into the hair drug detector bearing plate.

e. Set the time, frequency, and other parameters.

f. The hair will be ground up and placed on a drug test card, and the drug components contained within the hair can be checked by adding reagents.

Urine drug test

Urine drug test can be operated by ordinary people, simply put the urine on the drug testing paper and test; its main features are fast, convenient, and easy to carry. Currently, a large number of individuals, drug rehabilitation hospitals, and public security departments, but also the current detection of drugs is one of the conventional reagents.

The specific operation is as follows.

a. Open the bag, take out the drug test panel, and try to use it within one hour.

b. You can collect the urine of the suspect first and then add a drop of urine to the test panel.

c. Wait for 3 to 5 minutes for the result to be known. If the result of the drug test is a line, it is positive, that is, there is a drug component.

Saliva drug test

The principle of saliva testing is the same as urine testing in that both are analyzed and tested by the body's metabolites, and both operate in a similar manner. Although saliva is more readily available than urine, it is susceptible to contamination by food, chewing gum, cigarettes, and a number of other substances, so special care is taken in collecting the sample.

The saliva drug test is not much different from the urine test panel in that saliva is collected from the test subject's mouth and placed in the collection chamber of the kit, and the results are ready in about ten minutes.

Blood test

Although saliva and urine testing are simple and convenient, there are some obvious flaws. For example, the collected sample is easily contaminated by other substances, or mixed with other liquids will dilute its composition, and the test results will be biased, or even undetectable.

By sampling the blood of the person tested, it is possible to determine precisely whether his or her blood is positive (drug use) or negative (no drug use).

Blood testing can make up for some of the shortcomings of urine and saliva testing, but requires a higher level of timeliness because the metabolism of drug components in the venom is very fast. In addition, because blood tests are expensive and the testing equipment is only available in a few provincial hospitals, individuals rarely use this type of testing.
